RARE 1999 Medium Blue Metallic Trans Am in TX
Im considering selling my 99 Medium Blue Metallic T/A and getting into a luxury car or 2nd gen 3S.
In case you dont know, only around 180 MBM T/As were ever built (per PHS) and only in 99, making it a very rare car.
Car is an automatic with the GU5 (3.23) rear axle, two-way lumbar leather seats, and every option that Im aware of save for TCS and the cd changer.
Ive owned this car since January 2001, and it has been garaged its entire life, immaculately maintained, and never wrecked, abused, raced, smoked in, or even looked at funny.
I have the complete Carfax and GM service history, all receipts, everything.
Mileage is 83,081 ~90% highway due to my daily 58 mile roundtrip down highway 31 to work.
Since its never seen the track, the only performance figure I have is when I dynod the car several years ago which yielded 298.1 rwhp/323.1 tq. Only performance modification was lid, still had stock exhaust.
Maintenance:
Oil ALWAYS changed with Mobil 1 Synthetic at 3-4.5k ODIs
Tranny fluid/filter at 30 & 60k
Diff (Mobil 1) fluid at 50k and 80k
Bosch platinum +4s at 45k
Zaino since the first month I had it.
Replaced recently:
Battery
Front and rear brake rotors
Front and rear brake pads
All tires (275/40/ZR17) Yokohama AVS-100s
Fuel pump and filter
Serpentine belt
New BRASS headlight gears from bfranker
Rear end has roared since day one, and since its been getting gradually louder recently (turned out to just be a bearing), Im replacing it with a known good lower-mileage unit. EDIT: Rear has been replaced with an Auburn unit, had it inspected and new pinion seal installed as preventive measures. Car is now good to go!
Engine:
Engine is completely stock and unmolested. Only thing that could be considered performance is an SLP underhood ram-air induction kit (similar to FTRA), SLP lid, and Dynomouth exhaust setup.
Suspension:
Recently, the stock DeCarbons seemed to be going out, so I went ahead and replaced them with Bilstein HD's. While I was at it, I decided to get rid of the 4x4 look, while still maintaining as much clearance as possible, so I settled on the Hotchkis springs. Shocks, springs, and PHR have less than 1k on them! Car also had a full laser alignment after shocks and springs were installed.
Bilstein HD shocks
Hotchkis lowering springs (1 inch)
UMI adjustable panhard rod (red)
BMR subframe connectors (red)
BMR strut tower brace
SLP Firehawk Silver 17x9 wheels
Appearance/Misc:
EuroLamps low-beam conversion kit with Sylvania Silverstars H7s
Aftermarket halo foglights wired to Jimmy Jams (only thing JJ is wired to, never had nitrous)
Autometer 2 guage pillar pod.
Autometer Cobalt transmission temp gauge + sender
Autometer Cobalt water temperature gauge + sender
Anniversary-style rear filler
High polished calipers
Corsa-style stainless steel dual/dual exhaust tips
Audio/Electronics:
Due to pretty much every component of the stock Monsoon system dying (HU/amp/all speakers but trunk panels), I replaced everything. Goals were to not restrict t-top or spare storage, and for it to appear as factory as possible. Im not much of an audio guy as I mainly listen to news/talk, but it made a HUGE difference over stock.
Pioneer DEH-P77DH 1.5 DIN Head Unit
Pioneer XM Tuner and antenna. Tuner connected to HU via digital IP-Bus cable sounds great!
P-SWIX controller to enable steering wheel controls to work with aftermarket HU
4 x Alpine SPS-170A 6.5 inch speakers (in doors and sail panels)
MTX stealth box w/ MTX 4500 10 Subwoofer
Crossfire amplifier
Subthump.com amp rack
Valentine 1/Passport hardwire
Flaws:
The passenger interior door panel has infamous crack at the top, and a section of tint on the rear hatch is flaking. Other than that, its in excellent condition inside and out.
Pics
This is all I could grab before I lost sunlight, will take more tommorrow.
Rear shot from a few months ago when I got the tips:
EDIT: Here's interior shots:
Im asking $12,500 but may consider good cash offers!

Good luck with the sale. I have a '99 Z28 the same color and really like it.
FWIW, the color on Camaro's was called "Bright Blue Metallic" even though it's the same color as your T/A. AND, don't mean to be a ****, but it's actually NOT the same color as the Corvette. How do I know? A local guy with a Nassau Blue Corvette and I were at a car show together. We looked at each other's cars and though there was a distinct difference of at least a shade. (both paint jobs in excellent shape with no fading etc.) So, we parked them side by side, and yes, it was a shade off. Opened up the doors and checked the paint code numbers... sure enough... they were different. However, that is being picky, they look to be the identical color unless you look at one of each simultaneously.
