I got a 2000 ktm 380mxc i ended up just trading a guy straight up my banshee for it, i got the worse end of the deal but that bike had its share of problems. There are always people looking to trade you should search craigslist. But i see what you mean losing all that cash in the bike but i you will not regret getting a bike i can assure you that.

i have a 02 400ex i got the thing for 1350!! hell of cheap. the frame has some rust on it. the guy has not done no maintenance to the quad, its been sitting for about 1 year, it starts right up and runs fine, transmission shifts beautiful, i need to drain the oil because its contaminated.i need to replace the left tie rod, new spark plug. i just need to fix some stuff here and there. but i am really really in need of tires, were goin up to our other house and its like the most perfect place to ride there so i need some tires by thanksgiving. im also gonna go check out walmart too. thanks guys

damn that is a good deal. Here is some basic helpfull articles from a forum that is for dirtbikes but will still work for a quad: http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=94

Ya fresh oil with a new oil filter and a new plug is a good idea so is some new coolant, cleaning air filter, lube the chain, and replace the transmission fluid. If you have the time and know how cleaning the carb and doing a valve job are important things to do also since it seems like they have never been done.
