Id check that leak out for sure, but if the problem persists maybe try replacing the cables.
Do you have a voltmeter by any chance? You can pick up a cheap one and it would help you diagnose the problem. While its running you can put grond the black and put the red on the R terminal of the alt and it will tell you the output voltage, should be around 14 volts. You can also put it on the battery right after the car is shut off to tell if the voltage is being drained.

they used a voltmeter at autozone. i think? they said the alternator was pumpin out 56 amps? but the battery was only 11.01 volts and it kept goin down. im taking it to a shop tomorrow and tellin them wat i think is wrong. and have them look at it. i hope that power steering leak dont cost me hella money.

You should get to know the guys at Norcal-LSX or anyone else in your area, they might be able to help out once in a while with installs/repairs... I got sick of paying mechanics to do simple (but time-consuming) labor, so I've been learning how to do this stuff with help from other locals.

Interesting, I've been having intermittent starting issues. Replaced the battery after it tested bad at AZ. I still have the intermittant problem and it appears that every now and then my alt isnt fully charging. I did notice this past weekend that my power steering pump had leaked around the cap and was all over the pulley.
I miss my old IROC, where I could take the alternator apart (everything was screwed together. If a regulator or diode went bad, you could buy just that piece for a few bucks and be back in business.

basically the guy is about to get the clothes sued off his back. he sold me a warranty for 1600 that he added to the price of the car. i never got my warranty and he never sent the papers in. the bank REFUSES to do anything about it unless i get my car repossessed which im not going to let happen. so now i gotta go all the way to a sacramento court and sue his punk ***. and i guess the bank is getting sued too. ive shelled out over 3000 dollars just to keep the car RUNNING. so im gonna get my warranty. and my money back. and hes gonna get his lil dealership shut the f*** down.
