if you really dont want cats but want the look there for the police those are a good option. it might keep your car from getting towed vs. a ticket to the smog ref.

I never understood why they have a "Visual Inspection", if the car passes on the computer, why does it really matter how it passed?

Here in Tucson they don't give a **** about visuals, as long as you can pass the sniffer. Both times I went to emissions, they looked on the complete wrong side of the car and marked that I had a catalytic converter - I didn't.

Is that thing just a straight tube with a cover on it or is it tubing all spaced out like a real resonator or something.

well, i gutted my stock cats and gained 20 wheel. so i imagine that would even gain more.
