Default Cluncking rear!

I have UMI control arms with single Solid Ends, KYB 8-ways and EiBach Pro-Kit springs.

When I drive my car, Every single bump on the road I get clunking Noise front the rear. It gets EXtremely loud when going over Railroad tracks and hard bumps. I mean its almost to the pioint that I no longer wanna drive my car. I have tried putting my shocks to #1, and same thing and up to #8. I have tried to raise the mounting point on the LCA since I have Relocation brackets and it seemed to get worse.

My question is does anyone else experience all this noise with this type of control arm?

I have the exact same UMI adj poly/rod LCA's w/ UMI relo brkts, Koni's, Sportlines, BMR rear sway bar, and Spohn adj PHB. Car rides smooth, no knocking.
I would check your TA to see if it has any cracks in it.

Tighten the crap out of your 4 LCA bolts and the torque arm bolts. I use a torque wrench at 100 ft/lbs.

Probably not worth mentioning but also be sure with the LCA's you have the poly end attached to the car, and the rod end to the rear end...

Hope this helps.

how long have u had them on? Mine seemed to get louder over time, I had the same issue. I eventually switched to an adjustable poly/poly ended LCA.

Have you taken out the spacers between your rubber axle stops?

My entire rear suspension is rod ended with the exception of my panhard bar and I get some noise but mostly from torque arm, and my shocks suck.

Why does that matter?
I have it the other way around. Did know the orientation mattered...

Ive heard people claim that placing the poly end on the rear end will "soak up" more vibration/shock load because it is right at the source. Ive also heard people say to do it the other way around. Ive ran mine both ways, no noticeable difference

Oh man I have Never even thought about the torque arm. Ima try and tighten that sucker bc I did have it off about 1 month ago to replace the TA mount over to a Poly one. The 4 bolts on the control arms are Tight as ****!!!! So I know thats not it.

I have had the same control arms for maybe just under 2 years.

What Spacer? I know there are the bump stops right by the disk to stop the axle from going higher in the car, but there are spacers there? I have never seen them?

Same as the day it happened so far. I will be getting it fixed. Eventually...
I haven't installed all of my stuff, just a few things. Car rides so much better and more steady. Only problem is that I don't think my stock clutch is up to the task of handling the new power and now new found traction...

I have my stock torque arm, UMI Solid/Poly Control arms, UMI Weld in relocation brackets.

Over hard bumps yes It does Bottom out. I dont think thats the issue, I think the Solid rod ends are going bad. I removed them and there is just a smidge of play in it. I dont know if that could be the issue. I torqued everything down last night and no luck at all.

Even extremely tight, The noise is constant even right after tightening them.

Im going to talk to UMI see what we can work out bc This is rediculous. I dont know if its faulty Rod ends or what but this sucks!!.

Easy test...swap back on the stockers and see if the noise disappears. Should take you 20 mins tops. If it disappears you know it's the LCA's, if it doesn't, then look elsewhere.
