My first Z06

My first Z06
I'll try to keep this as brief as I can. A few weeks ago I returned from overseas and knew that I was going to finally purchase a C6 Z06. My plan was to buy a used black/black and completely black it out. Well, after some internet searching I realized that finding a black one was going to be difficult. After calling around I drove over to O' Reilly Chevrolet in Tucson and they told me that had no way of locating one either.
The weekend before last, a friend of mine and I were drinking a few beers discussing how I would attain this car. I started to doubt if I would and said, "Hey, CTS-V's are really nice, let's go look at them." So, we called a cab and went to Coulter Motor Company here in Tempe. Upon arrival we located a new CTS-V, but when we began asking questions the salesmen were very distant and non concerned with our vehicle search. They even mentioned another one on the lot that was being cleaned up to come onto the showroom... never asked if I would be interested in looking at it. So, we called our cab back and went to Chapman Chevrolet.
As soon as we entered the lot we were greeted by Phil De Carlo (Chapman's Corvette Specialist). I stepped out of the car and said, "I'm looking for a 2006/2007 black Z06." He immediately went inside and started to talk with Cory Donaldson (New Car Sales Manager) about locating one. These guys worked hard over the course of the next 2 hours to locate the exact car I wanted; and they did. The found me a 2006 with less than 10,000 miles for 51k in TX. We started with the papers and they got everything arranged for it to be loaded on a trailer and sent to AZ. All of this happened late on a Saturday afternoon, and by Wednesday my new Vette was ready for pick up.
Overall this was the best dealership experience I had ever had. The guys didn't question if I could afford a car like this based on the way I looked or my age. I told them what I wanted and their team of professionals made it happen. I would highly suggest speaking with these men if you are in the Tempe/Phoenix area and are having a hard time locating the Corvette you want.
For my new Z06, I'm taking it in tomorrow to get the wheels powder coated black, windows tinted, lenses smoked, blacked out cross flags and badges, and in the upcoming weeks a complete LG set up will go on, with black powder coated mufflers and tips. Stand by for pics.

I'm actually staying with a friend over on Elliot and 51st, the car is going into the shop tomorrow to get the rims powder coated and badges painted. Then it's off to Xtreme next week for LG headers and a Halltech Bee kit, but once I get out, we should link up at a cruise or something.
