J&S gears In Huntington Beach! Only guy I would trust.

When I did the front wheel drive case on the sub, Case was broken in an accident but i got a used one to replace it. I asked every one what to use to reseal it. Typical answer from everyone including the parts dept at the local GM Dealer was "Just use silcone". The guy From J&S used to work for the dealer and told me It was a red anarobic sealer that GM used. He answered all my other questions about tearing down and setting up the case That I just let him Do it. He gave me a discount since I brought him all the parts and he didn't have to remove and install it from the car.

Everyone else wanted about $100 more with me pulling it from the car and bringing it to them. He is the only one that knew you have to use anerobic sealer between the case. I have used a few different trans shops through mechanics shop i work at and everyone uses Silcone on all the FWD cars nand transfer cases and they all end up leaking Fluid at some point. Not My front diff which was sealed with the correct anerobic sealer.

Default Price Quotes for gears!

Ok guys I called the places you suggested. I asked how much it would cost for the gears, bearings, seals and labor. Here are the results . . .

Toy Shop 850$
J&S Gears 700$
Red Bull 650$
CMS didnt answer the phone, (probibly on dyno)

The Red Bull place also said they could get it done in 3 hours. I tried to go today but a few cars came in while i was calling around the other shops gettin quotes. Plan to have them in by Wednesday.

If anyone can beat 650 $ let me know!

Xtreme transmissons hooked a bunch of us up. I believe they just moved from Gardena to the beach. PM, and i'll get you the info. But i think he's a sponser on here now. Not sure.

And for rearend service hit up Hooper's Rearend exchange in Sun Valley. Awesome shop and guys. It cost me $350 to fix what the GM dealership messed up. New gears and labor. That was the price out the door!

Thanks for offering me a great deal. Someone local to me has a set for really cheap. So I'll probably pick those up.

I went to Toy Shop to get mine installed before Ryne opened his shop (or before I knew he did them, I forget which). Slight whine on decel is my only complaint. If I did it again, I would go to CMS.

Default 4.10s installed at Red Bulls

I ended up going to Red Bulls Differentail in Belflower. The guys name is Mike and he was super cool. He took a lot of time to explain what he was doing and what parts he was using and why. It only took 3 hours so i just waited at the shop. The gears do not make any noise at all. He said he has been doing it for like 20 years. I would recommend him to others. Total price was 650$ for parts & labor. This included preplacing the seals and bearings. Now i just have to get my Speedo corrected. I dont like it saying im doing 100+ when im not.
