For the H8ters:details leaked on 2011-12 mustang
#121
Well the current mustang weighs in the 3500+ range. The new one shouldn't be too much more. That 200lb over the m3 was a typo...was suppost to be the other way around. I see the car pushing high 3600lbs but not much more Ford doesn't fail that bad. So it should be an interesting car minus the horrible looking rear end of the car.
And yes I also have a mustang and it is a very good car.

2011 Mustang GT to get 6-speed transmission and variable valve timing
2011 Mustang GT Track Pack to include Brembo brakes

Brembo's on mainstream production cars like the GT is not uncommon, Dodge did it with the SRT platform, so what's new?
The GT500 with an aluminum block is a disastrous idea right now, considering how much can be lost in production changes in the platform and hoping that there are no faults in the new casting process. I'd expect it in 2013.
Essentially, there is nothing new or unexpected in your initial post other than options that some other manufacturers have been using for a few years now.
BTW, no 5.0 in 2011 GT. Don't know where that came from other than the factory ordered race car, but that can't be considered because it is in no way street legal...
I'll drive my Camaro to work next week just for you. Just like I do every week. How's that sound?
And also, where will the BOSS fit in since we already have a 500 horse GT500? How about we spend more money on making a middle road option for the retard who can't decide whether we wants small ***** or really small *****? Oh yeah, I forgot, they almost made the GT-R. ALMOST. God forbid they give more reason to give you the ricer denomination than you have already earned....
BTW again, where's your link to this 'Information'? I'd love to see it.

Funny, I work for Ford Sales division and I don't remember seeing anything about the 2011 Mustang that was stated in this initial thread post. If I remember correctly we just released the 2010 a sleight couple months ago and are more focused on getting the new model in the hands of the public at this point. 2011 is less than a production year off and I see no change at this point. Ecoboost is for cars that require better fuel economy with a side effect of high performance. The mustang has no problem with either of those categories right now.

I would be willing to bet a pint of my own blood that the 2011 Mustang GT weighs in not a single pound shy of 3650lbs. As long as it has the 5.0L in it. My horsepower means beefier driveline.

It has been rumored forever that the 2011 Mustang GT will be getting the 5.0L Coyote engine.

Got one sitting at the shop right now. 302, AFR heads, edelbrock intake, runs 11.50's on the motor all day long and the engine has 180K on it. On the unit, it runs 10.20's with a factory T5 trans.
Just because some douchebags don't know how to build cars doesn't mean they all suck. It goes for Ford and Chevy guys. I have seen 2002 Camaro's with LS1's, AFR 215's, cam, nitrous, and drag radials and it was running 11.40's.. Same day at the track, we took my buddies 2001 camaro with the same AFR heads, different cam and slicks and it ran 11.40's, n/a with the a/c and all accessories still on it.

I find it funny that an '87-90 fox body will outrun any year Camaro, with the factory longblock. Let me re-phrase that. Any 87-90 fox body that I have worked on, that still has the factory shortblock in it.
