Smile My faithful third gen

If had her since high school and I cant think of ever selling her. She's not as shiny as she used to be but she's been getting me to work for many years know. Got her a new MAF and trans service, she running good again. Just needs an oil pan cause of a stupid leak and new rear diff oil. With the vette almost done I want the Bird painted hopefully by next summer, we'll see. Its a 1988 GTA Firebird 5.0 305 TPI, 700R4 with 3.23 Borg Warner rear, WS6 suspension, only 120,000mi.

Yup my first car ever. I drove my moms Corolla for a few months when I had my drivers permit but this was my first real car that Ive owned. Was saving up and bought her my senior year of high school ($2800) and have had her ever since. Been through hell and back. The car had 65,000 original miles. Some guy hit me almost three years ago and I had to get a new (junkyard but straight) hood. She has very few dings. Just needs a good paint job and maybe a new front bumber to look like she did. Ive neglected her since I got the vette so its time she deserves some attention.

Thnx on the compliments!

As for the buff, no I havent. Its chipped in some areas and the previous painters just painted over the original paint looks like without even sanding it. So I want my paint guy to paint it right and use what I first wanted, black cherry paint, with a hue on the purplish side. With paint and those new 18" gold snowflake wheels, she'll be stealing weekend driving time from the vette.

And you wanted to CARS program the GTA for a Dodge truck. See all your car needed was a little love.

I was having second thoughts but $4500 for an '88 Firebird will make you think about it. Just happy its running a lot better now.

Once you get it all clean I think you'll be happy. I know that I get way more looks in my third gen than I did in my 01(which looked almost like new)

Yeah $4500 for the car, but then $6000 - $8000 in debt? No thanks.

Nice GTA! I used to have an '88 with the digital dash, t-tops and manual. Good luck with it!
