so it hasnt been wrecked just rolled down the driveway and crashed into a three but the radiator support had to be welded huh i didnt like that.
so the vin turned out to be a
original convertible car
and a lb9 305 tpi 5 speed original irocz
is this car worth restoring

Walk away, unless this car has sentimental value (which it obviously doesnt) or unless you're willing to invest probably more than what its worth to be perfect...

There are better conditioned 3rd gens that will pop up for the right price with time.

this will come in handy...
http://www.thirdgen.org/rpodecoder

from factory the convertible camaros were equiped with a 305.

check the weather stripping, only a few companies make the stripping for the 3rd gen convertibles and the price is very high.

and remember the parts for those verts are scarce.
3,940 (1989) IROC-Z Convertibles

good luck.

I'm still amazed at how well my "imaginary" thirdgen engine runs. But changing a TBI into an LS1 is definitely an upgrade.

I'd say that convertible has been wrecked and changed too much, unless you have a body man friend who needs the work.
