Not to be rude...but you don't have a mustang anymore. Your car only has one cam

And please don't build/stroke your 305. Your really going to waste your time. I suggest going on to thirdgen.org and researching a little bit before making any decisions.

That T-5 will come apart if you do a 350.. You should probably have that gone through.

If the shop is telling that building a 305 is cheaper and/or better for you than building a 350, then walk away and go somewhere else. A good quality speed/machine shop is hard to find, don't just go to the closest one...

A built 305 will quickly exceed the T5 capabilities also. It's not a matter of which block you use...the T5 is weak, that's it.

This is true as well. If your planning to make more power..take it easy on the car while you save for the t-56 you want. That t-5 will break sooner than you'd like.

And the t-5 WILL bolt up to a 350...but again, it just wont last too long.

Yeah.

Make power AND properly supporting that power costs lots of money $$$.
Most people neglect the second part of that. Sure you can put an engine that makes a bagillion hp, but if you don't have a trans/rear/fuel system/suspension to support it, you'll be going no where fast.

Just get a replacement 305 short block and save up and build a 350/T56 on the side.

All kidding aside..you could probably make that tranny last 10s of thousands of miles more if you just take it easy and drive like a grandma..but who's going to do that with a new motor in their f-body?

If you dont mind sharing what your budget is for your build we can help steer you in a good direction. Right now it sounds like just having the engine rebuilt and left stock is the most reasonable option..but again let us know your budget..
