Step 4) have it all installed. price-free if you know the right people.

So in short for between $2500 and $4000 you'll have a badass, lower mileage setup that will beat stock ls1's. To me this is a no brainer. Get your *** over here and pick it up.

i would love to do this but i dont have anyone that can help me do all of this...

plus don't i have to do more mods on it such as fuel an **** like that

Its actually a very straight forward swap. You would swap in the LT1 just like you would any other motor. No need for special motor mounts or anything. Your car was a TPI car from the factory so you can use the stock fuel pump, the only things that need to be compensated for are the fuel lines under the hood and the power steering lines and reservoir which are easy as hell to make with parts from Auto Zone, OR there is a guy on thirdgen.org named z28ricer that sells customized parts for the swap ready to go.

Bad: Engine is pretty greasy, once it's out you can clean it up, and reseal anything you want.

LT1
~45k on the bottom end
stock heads and intake
CC503 cam
Crane 10308 dual springs
Comp Pro Mag 1.6 rr's
TF guideplates
ARP rocker arm studs
PS painted 1 3/4" LT headers (a bit dinged up since my car is slammed, but you'd need different headers anyway)
Prof Prod 52mm TB

newly installed Zoom kevlar clutch
stock slave and master

Jason's setup hasn't been dynoed but he's probably pushing around 350 rwhp.

The t56 swap would be cake in your car because it's already stick. You'd have to make a small lil custom bracket i think for one of the pedal's and possibly a shorter driveshaft which isn't a big deal..someone else should confirm this though. Read up on thirdgen.org also.

Using an LT1 style T56 doesnt require shortening the driveshaft, but using an LS1 or aftermarket (Tremec) style T56 does.

He blew up his original engine last year and replaced it with a low mileage motor.

As stated it's a pretty straight forward swap.

Also as stated I replaced the engine after I spun a bearing at ~150k.

~350 is what this set up typically puts out. Car runs strong as hell. I can usually pull on bolt-on LS1's.

What does it take as far as wiring?

I don't know a whole lot about 3rd gens, but Mike (MSS91Z28) told me that the '91-'92 z28 interior harness plugs in the same as LT1 cars do. So it would probably require repinning a few connectors. Nothing major I would assume.

If you're starting off with a TPI harness it makes it easier, but there is still a lot of splicing. And if you do it this way it will be harder to pinpoint little problems down the road if you get any. If you can afford it, you're better off just going with a custom harness if you're not good with wires and tinkering. Not the cheapest route, but its the more painless way to do it. These harnesses are usually in the range of $400-$500 depending on the company though.
