im glad to see they are making an engine that can compete. what do you guys think this will cost? considering their 315hp mustang costs about the same thing as a 425hp camaro.

What's funny is that the 86-93 5.0's walked all over the Camaro's of those years and they 302's compared to the GM's 350's

Once again, it's not HP it's about the entire package.

Maybe if they went with a little more displacement. Havent really seen a Ford motor with real ***** without a blower. Plus parts are really expensive for DOHC motors and not a lot of companies produce parts that are much better than stock. Good numbers for a decent sporty car but IDK about Camaro challenging numbers. We'll see.

A '93 5.0 walked all over the '93 z28 with the first 5.7 LT1? You sure...?

The '93 Cobra was only rated at 235hp, while it was likely an underating, it still made no more than 250hp. Which is still less than the rated 275hp/325tq of the '93 z28.

I bet if I was driving one with a 6-speed I would have smoked you.

http://www.stangbangers.com/93_Cobra...28_Article.htm

'93 z28 = 14.0 @ 98.8
'93 Cobra = 14.4 @ 97.4

'93 z28 > '93 Cobra

I actually bought that magazine back in the day and read the article...

PS: I don't know why everyone makes such a big deal about the weight, the Cobra only weighted 118 lbs less...not enought to make up for the less hp and tq than the z28.
