So what size wheels/tires did you have?
What kind of tires did you use?
how much did it cost to run willow springs?
looks like they shortened the course, didn't see the sweeping high speed right turn that leads you to the straightaway prior to turn 1.

Wheels /tires 17's fronts/18"s back 275/295's fire hawks at 32/34 psi
$130 for the day
They improved the track in some place, but its still the same 1.8 mile.
No times but I finally hit 120 on the back straight before the S bend
Cold as hell at 6:45am, bu the sun came out and the weather was perfect. A blackZ06 on his first run took corner 2 too fast and had a nice dirt sandwaich. The perfect Fuckup of the day: A yellow S2000 went sideways into about 8" of mud and gunk, covered the track and made his yellow car all brown.

He was at streets of willow, not willow springs.
Head out to the big track, its more fun.
I've had good experiences with NASA, Speedventures, and Open Track Racing at Willow Springs. Each group has its own postives and negatives.
NASA has a good program to improve your skills, wheras OTR is the least expensive and most track time. NASA always has paramedics on hand and you will see lots of races. AI, CMC, even miata is fun to watch between heats.

I wouldnt let your brakes hold you back from going your first time. Try it out and see if you like it.

Hawk HPS pads rock. ZERO brake fade or lockup.I also have brake cooling ducts and that helps also. Yep I have an auto with 3.73's and a shift kit. I dialed the shift times and pressure back for driving out there.
your car is already there. Strano suspension and bigger brakes. I had very good luck with Hawk HP+ C5 fronts and f-body rears. I knew guys running more aggressive pads, but I wanted to use the same pads for street. Dust like hell, but work really well.
