you guys are forgetting that this makes too much sense and saves too much money. It will never happen. Keep us updated on what happens.

I'm fine with this law. What happens when they update it so all 2005 and older vehicles are required to have the old tailpipe check?

im going to go ahead and look up those peoples numbers and give them a call tomorrow. If i can get through somewhat easily i will make a thread of who everyone needs to call and what they need to say. Hopefully we can get it in a lot of regional forums, if we get lots of calls in there they might listen. We will see.

Yeah but will such a check be able to tell if something like the rear 02 sensors are disabled?

Cool

If they can convince the democrats that run California that it'll reduce emissions, and not cost the government additional money; then there's hope for it!

sucks even more *** for us pre 96 guys because that article says we still have to undergo the traditional smog and they will limit the number of smog stations to the ones they feel are doing it right under a ranking system.

Illinois just made all 95 and older vehicles exempt. I wish all the other states would do the same. They could then totally eliminate the rollers. Indiana has not done this yet

Awesome! I hope this law does pass, it would be so much easier to pass smog once we learn what they test for. Can you say "stock" ECU swap Tune out all the bad codes and make everything LOOK kosher to the computer testing equipment.

if you want the bill to be taken seriously, someone needs to start a real petition and mail it to the congress man. and i'm talking a real petition, not that online bullshit. then they will actually start to consider it.

The article said vehicles older than 1975 are exempt. Aren't 1975 vehicles also exempt?
