Default Got Pulled over for modified exhaust

Just cruising around today with my GF and her 350z. My GF has a black 350z with 5% window tint all around besides the front windshield, no cats, test pipes and cat back. He goes around her and comes and gets me for my window tint (45%), and "modified exhaust" which i only have a magnaflow cat back and a 3" cutout which isn't to loud at all. He didnt end up giving me a ticket for anything but I guess all the stories about california cops and exhaust is true lol

You know, that's what they get paid for. Of course they enjoy it. Ever been on a ride along? It's fun pulling people over. : )

I got pulled over for loud exhaust one time; i got two 3" cutouts on my 76 formula. The funny thing about it was that since my friend was driving, and was being an *** with the cop, he got the ticket instead of me! lol i didn't even know they could do that. But i learned my lesson, i put some qtp electric cutouts on

I have won the modified exhaust deal in court. The cop did not get under the car and inspect everything so i just said I modified the tips for looks and the judge threw it out.

exactly why i just put new taillights on (had the blackouts) i kept getting pulled over, and this last time, i heard the cop say when he was writing my fix it it ticket, "that exhaust is kind of loud" i was thinking ah **** don't do it, don't write me for exhaust. i just sat quiet and he never checked my exhaust thank god.

and a side note, my windows are tinted 5% so i'm always in the habit of rolling them down whenever i see a cop.

**** i need some wood to knock on after replying in this thread

If you only had tips than yea, thats pretty rediculous. They dont pull people over for the fun of it, that is their job. I have been pulled over for modded exhaust a few times and have never gotten a ticket. If I did, I would deserve it as I know I am breaking the law.

Oh yeah I totally understand its their job. No disrespect or anything. But I just found it funny that my car is like 98% stock.

That is pretty strange, no worries I just get a bit tired of the posts some guys make complaining that they got caught breaking the law and that police are just out to get them. Not saying all cops are perfect but there are some that still take pride in their jobs and quite a few are friends of mine.

edit:just to be clear OP that is not directed at you lol

That's ok, if it makes you feel better I got a reckless driving for punching the throttle for a second in a parking lot at a car meet (no burn out maybe spun them for a rotation or two).

I try to give them respect but the one in Sacramento was ridiculous. He said it was an exhibition of speed 'cuz I was spinning my tires, in an AWD STOCK wrx?!?! He then said it's pretty quick for a Suzuki, and he had to floor his Crown Vic to catch up?!?! A Suzuki?

Luckily, since I showed respect (kissed ***) and didn't argue anything except the Suzuki thing, he let me go after checking the insurance and record.
