The Prius costs an average of $3.25 per mile driven over a lifetime of 100,000 miles - the expected lifespan of the Hybrid.

The Hummer, on the other hand, costs a more fiscal $1.95 per mile to put on the road over an expected lifetime of 300,000 miles. That means the Hummer will last three times longer than a Prius and use less combined energy doing it."

What if the Prius lasts 200k miles + http://www.greenhybrid.com/discuss/176191-post1.html
Hi,
I'm looking for a first car and have decided on a Prius. The one I have my eye on is a 2005 with 190,000 miles. That's no type, 190k. I'm only 17 so if I want a prius, this is what I have to settle for.
to be p

My question is, is there anything in particular I should look out for? I know the batteries are rated for 150-200k miles or 10 years.

cheers

emo, you are the biggest bucket of fail I have ever seen. So you are saying if the H1 was completely battery powered/solar powered it would still be a shitbox, and not deserving of any respect? You are a god damn idiot.

i didn't say that. i said the H1 is and always will be a sign of excess. Just like the Ford Excursion. I don't see how someone can be a huge environmentalist and drive either of those 2 vehicles, be they biodiesel or not.

The Prius is designed to last 100k miles. It can go longer. The H1 is designed to go 300k miles. Diesels can go much longer than 300k miles. The mileage I listed is the manufacture's recommended life expectancy.

wait. what? Do you know what biodiesel is?

So what if Ferrari made a hybrid car...say like the 599 GTB and can achieve 25mpg. How does it get compared to the Excursion (which btw no one was talking about here..) or H1? Is it stupid bc it's "excessive"?

All you guys are missing the point:

This isn't about the laws or any of that bullshit, it's just another way for Texas to find ways to get as much money out of California as possible.

You guys think I'm crazy?

you might laugh but look at the canned goods in the supermarkets, you'll see a LOT of them come from Texas.

California had tons of tortilla companies but were forced out of business because Texas could make them at a MUCH cheaper price so Cali tortilla companies went belly-up.
Check it out, next time you buy tortillas you'll either see Guerrero to Mission Tortillas, BOTH the same company coming out of Texas.

Enron?
Texas.

SBC/AT&T?
Texas.
SBC buys Pacific Telesis and then finds ways to get rid of THOUSANDS of jobs in California and move the work out of the country.
SBC buys AT&T, takes the name and then moves the work back into the country but CONTRACTS employees in the southern states and AGAIN takes work and jobs away from California AND is now reaping HUGE profits from the #1 telecommunications market in the ******* WORLD and is using the profits FROM CALIFORNIA and taking it back to Texas and other good ole boy states.

And now Texas is doing whatever they can not to make this bill happen because they want to make more money out of California.

End of rant.
