License plate enforcement in the San Diego area
I really really really don't want to have to put the plate on the front of my car. I have been ticketed while parked in Salt Lake, but that is the extent of it.
What are your experiences in and around San Diego and even as high as L.A.?

I leave it covered now on purpose, so that if I get pulled over for speeding or something they have an out to be nice and give me a reduced ticket for no front plate. It only costs $25 fix it ticket and is free to have signed off by the CHP or local PD charges maybe $20. Then I go put the cover back on. I have also had warnings for it. Beats a $300+ speeding ticket and point on your record.

Had to go through a police checkpoint today. Had a short convo w/the officer; he never said a word about the plate. Nobody has ever bothered me about the plate. Anyway I see plenty of Mercs and BMWs with no plates at all rolling around LA; if anything those are the people LAPD and CHP should be pulling over.

If I remember right, California State Law says something along the lines of you are only required to have a license plate on the back of your ride. However, if you were issued two license plates then you need to put one on the front. If this is right beating a ticket would only require you to tell the officer/judge that you were only issued one plate.
I'll have to look through the laws again to confirm or deny this.
