Cool New to AZ, in Sierra Vista...What's there to do?

So my wife and I just moved to Sierra Vista AZ. I'm at Ft. Huachuca right now in the army. I sold my 99 SS I had before we left. I'm looking to buy another f body but would like another lt1 car this time around. So, who's near by, and what is there to do around here? This town is super small and there is nothing here.

My uncle retired there from the army. Definitely a small town.

Actually there are quite a few F-Bodies here in Sierra Vista. All generations are well represented. However there isn't much to do car-wise. Once upon a time we traveled to Tucson (SIR) for excitement but that is 70 miles away one-way. Buy a mountain bike and hit the trails!

Well I just got orders for November at ft huachuca. Doesn't sound like a welcome wagon awaits. We definitely need to hit SIR and make a local hangout spot.

Only one event scheduled for November. sirace.com

You can always hang out with one of the Tucson (desertstreetcars.com) or Phoenix Clubs (azfba.com) if you don't mind traveling.

Well I'm house hunting in sierra vista now. Bigger than I thought. Not many nice cars out on a Friday night. Anybody with HP tuners out here?

They don't come out to play until the late hours of the night.

Contact Nicd here on LS1Tech for all of your tuning needs.

Yeah, there defiantly aren't any nice cars here. The most I've seen of camaro's here has been at the chevy dealer. I seen one really nice LT1 Z28 the other day. It was white and had what looked like chrome Z06 wheels on it. Couldn't really tell though cause they were going the other way. Oh well. I just got here and ive already got orders to go else where. Maybe I'll find a nice stock ss for sale there.

You have been in town, three weeks? What are you driving? There were five F-Bodies (four Camaros and one Trans Am) at the cruise-in on 11 September along with many late model and classic cars, were you there? There were three very nice F-Bodies out last night from 2300-0130. There are a lot of nice cars here, we just don't cruise every night because we have a life. LOL

If you are looking to buy, drive to Tucson, Phoenix, or use AutoTrader. You can look around for something at the 23rd Annual Cars In The Park, held on 9 October 2010 in Veterans Memorial Park in Sierra Vista. There will be hundreds of cars are on display. Maybe there will be a primo stock Camaro SS for sale. Good Luck.

I wish I was gonna be back for that show. I don't officially arrive until late October. But my car won't leave Tucson until I find a house. That is gonna be the tough part.

No, I've ben here 8 weeks, not that it's much if a difference. No, on the 11th I had to work so I was locked up on post. Ive seen a few here in the last few days out. I found a nice black on black 6 speed, 99 SS for sale up in tucson for $8k but they want $2k down and $400 a month. For that I could damn near adores a new 2011 SS.

Did you make it down to the car show? It was a beautiful day and there was a great turn out. I did not see a single Camaro with a for sale sign on it though.

I took my son to the car show here in sierra vista on saturday. It was boring. They had a few 67-69's, and a few 10 models and that was it. There were at least 2 dozen new challengers though...not that I cared to see a new car. I can go to the car lot for that.

Lol. Yeah I've been here for a while but I'm sorry, this place sucks. My wife and I have three kids and other than walmart there's not much to do. Its just a big shock compared to where we came from. Oh well I guess, I'm headed to washington in december.

Not trying to annoy or embarrass you but what types of activities are you looking for? There is more to do here than cruise Wal-Mart. There is Target and the Mall, LOL, J/K.

What were you expecting to find here in SV? Did you expect the local car scene to be active with cruising and street racing up and down Fry Blvd? As in most communities, the law enforcement agency frowns upon those activities.

May I suggest some activities in which the entire family can participate and quite possibly have a little fun as well.

Geocaching, mountain biking, or hiking the Huachuca, Dragoon, and the Chiracahua Mountains. Visit Tombstone (OK Corral), Bisbee (Queen mine tour), Kartchner Caverns, Cochise Stronghold, the Buffalo Soldier museum on Fort Huachuca. Watch the movies Tombstone, Wyatt Earp, and Gun Fight at the OK Corral. Then drive the 16 miles to Tombstone and walk the same streets that Doc Holiday, the Earps, the Clantons, and the McLaurys walked 129 years ago. A lot of historical events took place here that your children can visit. There is the Sonoran Desert Museum and Old Tucson Movie Studio in Tucson. Of course Arizona has the Grand Canyon.

16 October is the Bisbee 1000 Stairs and Ice Man Race, http://www.bisbee1000.com/. Helldorado Days in Tombstone are 15-17 October, http://www.helldoradodays.com/. Go have some fun.
