That's insane, unless you *have to* have an LS9 to say you do (or a replacement)! I remember the 2nd ZR1 vette's (~1990) mercury marine (LT5) engine was supposed to be like $35k or something. Not sure how true that is though, but bet it's not cheap, either.

Jee, for that kind of money, I could buy/build a monster big block that would put out far more power w/o trying and man could you imagine the sound [I know, would be hard in a newer chassis]

When i was working at Ford a few years back, the GT motor was 36k i believe.

21k wow. you can darton sleeve a ls1 and build it with fully forged internals and some bad *** heads for under 10k. and have money to buy a F1 series procharger and that would add up to 21k. and would be stronger and make more horse. GM is gettin over on fools lol

You are forgetting warranty and proven 100,000 mile plus reliability. The car is a super car, try getting an engine from a similarly performing supercar at a similar price

That being said I would would get a forged LS3 and add a TVS2300 to make similar power.
