New Cali License Plate Law..better straighten them out! Not a big deal, just know some of us run the license plates on the car trailer or jet-ski trailer on the fender not horizontal...straighten it out or you could be stopped. I know this topic/question came up a long time ago, but here's some new literature.
Background
Existing law requires license plates to be securely fastened at all times to the vehicle to prevent the plate from swinging, be mounted in a position to be clearly visible, and be maintained in a condition to be clearly legible.
New Information
Effective January 1, 2011, legislation amended CVC §5201 to include that license plates be mounted in a position so that the characters are upright and display from left to right.
