Default ANOTHER "Thanks to CMS" Thread

Just wanted to publicly say thank you to CMS (Cunningham Motorsports) in Murrieta, CA. They just finished a complete T56 rebuild and clutch replacement for my 02 SS. Very competitive pricing and very knowledgeable guys. When unplanned circumstances came up, THEY decided to eat a difference in price from the original estimate.

They also put the SS on the dyno and looked at the tune for me. I haven't been able to go WOT yet due to the rain, but it runs really smooth and put down 430 rwhp, so I'm stoked!

I have no hesitation in recommending them, and I'm going back within the next few months for a 9 inch rear end...

Here's their contact info if you're looking for a great shop in SoCal!

Shop Location:

26871 Hobie Cir, Unit C6
Murrieta, CA 92562

Contact Information:

Phone: (951) 677-0716

Thanks Ryne and Mike!

Ditto on service and integrity - CMS is top notch.

OP, if you want to save some money on the 9-inch swap, get a Strange 12-bolt with upgraded axles - I have the drive shaft you'll need at half the cost!

LS7 clutch (this is a street car, I may put drag radials on it but don't plan on running slicks).

I bought the car from a guy who used to race with Speedventures. It's a ported head/smog legal cam car put together by Don Lee Auto in Ontario. When I bought the car, it came with a dyno sheet that read 429 rwhp, but I assumed that this was on the *high* side since I have such a small cam. So I was happy to see that it was confirmed by the CMS dyno.

The car trapped a *corrected* 115 mph at LACR a few years back, but has only gone 112 mph at Fontana (with 3.42 rear gears and running through the traps in 3rd gear due to a broken fourth gear.)

I'm hoping that with some 3.73 or 3.90 gears, drag radials, and some driver mod, the car will trap consistent 115-116 mph. If I remember right, the car weighed in at 3450, and I weigh just under 200 lb.

Nothing but great reviews from the boards and word of mouth... I'll be having them tune the LS 240 when its boosted!

i am glad your happy eric!! i road tuned your car before i strapped it down, i couldnt really get on it much because it was raining.... but when i strapped her done and saw the numbers i was supremely surprised.... it baselined 415rwhp being a tad lean, timing a tad off, got the timing and a/f in order resulted in 430ish rwhp..... your car is proof that you dont need a big cam and a fast manifold to make great power
