if you are gonna spray it ! FORGE IT ALL !!!!
i like and hate the T-rex cam in my 04 goat , mid range and top end it screams , in a 4k lbs beast the low end isnt to bad , and im not running their recomended 4k stall , or low gears , i got the car with 3.46's and now have 3.73's , and i think it liked the 3.46's and 28" tall rear tires better than the 3.73 and 26's
the fun is listening to the cam lope at 2k driving 60-65 through a tunnel
im running about 135hp shot

For 400rwhp, don't even begin to think internals...unless you know you are going to add a large shot of n2o in the near future, spend your money elsewhere. A nice cam like the one Ryne or I mentioned will do you just fine. And since you have heads, consider a FAST intake manifold. With all that you will easily eclipse your 400 goal, more like ~430. Taking into account the mods and 4.10's you plan to get, raping Cobras is going to be no sweat.
the previous owner had the car set up for a 175 shot so ill prob keep that, thats why i might go with different pistons, an maybe a ls6 crank for now.
i do plan on adding some heads later on and a 90/90 combo atleast.
but for now my main concern is cam. i really wont spray unless its necessary, prob once or twice.
but ima take your advice an get a cam around those specs.
an i hope to be killing cobras.

stock 241 heads with just dual springs and titanium retainers

I've got the MS3 on a 110 LSA.. . The torque leaves a lot to be desired until about 3000rpm. I've been told the ones on a looser LSA are dogs until even higher in the RPM range.. I love my MS3 because i rev it to 7500 and it rips. It spins 295 drag radials the moment it hits 3500 rpm, and screams the rest of the way up.
The 228R from TSP is a good cam with a broad torque range.. I have one that's similar, in my T/A, but it needs a slightly looser than stock converter.. It fights the converter when idling in gear. The MTI X1 is similar, 230/227, with a little more lift. Both have a nice lope at idle.

well ive been looking into what a lot of guys are running seems there all running from 224-230ish so Im going to aim ive also seen some trick flow cams around same range, just to many cams lol
im going to listen an get a cam around those specs..
im going to build the motor since I already tore it all down it had to broken lifters.
looks like the previous owner started it without or something. the mti cam got like deep scratches in it an the cam bearings are scratched up too.
I want to mess with the internals, to change pistons an crank do I HAVE TO BORE OUT ENGINE??
I want to aim for higher compression.
ive wanted to get a cheap lq4/lq9 but i haven't had any luck locally
