Why not just get a custom cam ground around your wants/mods? The EPS custom grinds are making good power with smaller cams

well ive been looking into what a lot of guys are running seems there all running from 224-230ish so Im going to aim ive also seen some trick flow cams around same range, just to many cams lol

im going to listen an get a cam around those specs..

im going to build the motor since I already tore it all down it had to broken lifters.
looks like the previous owner started it without or something. the mti cam got like deep scratches in it an the cam bearings are scratched up too.

I want to mess with the internals, to change pistons an crank do I HAVE TO BORE OUT ENGINE??
I want to aim for higher compression.

ive wanted to get a cheap lq4/lq9 but i haven't had any luck locally
you should not buy a cam based on its sound , honestly.... a tuner can make sound like it loping by lower idle timing and cranking up the underspeed/overspeed idle timing tables

Hey Ryne- How much for a custom cam?

227/236 .630/.605 113LSA +0 advance ground in

DreemurY2KSS-
My 224/228 on 112 LSA (about .600 lift) will be for sale shortly.. $220 and its yours. I tuned it myself so no numbers, but a Google search will turn up a dyno sheet or ten. It has a mild lope through magnaflow catback, you can tell there's a cam in it. At 650rpm idle through a 3" cutout, it sounds mean. Good under-the-curve power.

This is an LS1, not a TPI...a cam swap after you already have the springs installed is a piece of cake.

I believe the EPS cams come in durations of 214, 218, 222, 226, 230, 234, 238, 242, and up. A EPS 230/230 on a 110 lsa would be nice streetable cam, with a mean idle with the 10.00 Degrees of Overlap.

my custom grinds are $399... what lobes? i am guessing lsl on the intake xer on the exhaust? is this for the L92 headed deal? i would do a 227-231 on a 114+2, or a 231-235 on a 114+3, i have had great success with the l92 stuff with shorter splits once you get above the mid 220's in duration

or try this cam... this cam really rocks honestly, super easy to tune, great driveabilty http://forums.corvetteforum.com/sout...ou-to-cms.html

if you are going to get a big cam make sure you try to keep the lsa down and a few degrees of advance so the cam is not a complete turd down low.

something like a 231/239 on 111+2, you also want more exhaust duration to help get the exhaust out since the nitrous is obviously getting in just fine.

Yeah.. I'm putting some LS3 heads, L76 and 92mm NX TB on my '99 LQ4.
The heads will be milled .035 with a .041 gasket. I'm running a .041 gasket right now, no problems, so quench is fine. I like the look of that RR Stinger cam.. esp the lower duration numbers. Your dyno looks nearly the same, torque wise, with this cam that I quoted specs to you...
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...o-numbers.html
The torque curve is identical, and it's on a lil 364, too. I dont care about the peak numbers, I just want that 400 ft-lb at 2800-3k where my converter will flash. I need to do some number crunching and find out what the PTV looks like for each cam.. Duration is the PTV killer. You got some great numbers on that LS3, there was a guy with a paxton and the same cam that only made 50rwtq higher.

AGREED!! There is no best cam!! It dont matter if its a custom cam from so and so and this shop is making great cams..and all that other BS... You need to really look at what your goals are for the car. Too many people here just rely on hearsay or " I THINK".. Call up proven shops like Ryne @ CMS and ask him.

I have a vigilante 3200 stall. And my cam is a 230/227. i have never rode in a stalled or cammed car, and my car drives like stock. I am dead serious. Seeing how my car drives now, i know i could step up to a larger stall, and should have gone with atleast a cam the size of the TSP Torquer 2 cam which is a 232/234 for the smallest.

My car is just a fun daily driver, light to light street car. It will never see the track, not trying to set records.
