Default Looking for a shop ...

I'm looking for a shop near LA/Palm Springs to balance + assemble a 347 LS1 shortblock within the next couple of weeks. The block machine work should already be done - I just need a shop to balance + assemble the rotating assembly in the shortblock to proper tolerances. I will be using SBC connecting rods, so a shop that has installed Gen 1 SBC connecting rods in an LS1 before is a major plus. Yes, it is possible to use Gen 1 style SBC connecting rods, and yes, people have done it, and yes, I can tell you how to do it if necessary, so don't try and tell me that it's not possible...

I'm only posting this because the shop I had in mind is too busy to assemble a shortblock for me...

Thanks.

UpDO NOT try Wayne's they've managed to f*ck up a set up heads for me and try to give me a 60 over crank when I just needed 10 over, I found my crank because I stamped it but I had to yell at the *** it wasn't my crank. if ace machine is still open call him otherwise I know a guy who gets lq4s cuts cams and his other shop does engines.

My Jeep's replacement motor was a Wayne's build, I think (guessing from the records). Not going to be using them...

Let's see some more shops!

I got a decent deal on some Lunati Pro Mod Gen 1 SBC rods.... 6.125", 2.100 rod journal, .927 pin. There is a slight offset on the small end though which would put more pressure on one side of the cylinder wall. More details (and instructions) at the link below:

They dyno tuned my Z28 last year. I scene all the equipment they have and watched them putting a few lsx motors together. You know a good shop when you see it; I spent two days at this shop, they even let me switch my injectors in their shop with their tools; and flow tested both sets for free. Saved me a couple dollars.

JMS in Monrovia has assembled a few of my engines with great success. Ryne at CMS can hook you up as well.
