yeah im probably gonna do a built auto at top gear. he said just to build the tranny and no install its gonna cost me 1300 bucks. Im probably gonna have to take a loan out of my 401k cause money is super tight and i just need to get this car back on the road. I use it for work normally when its running so i probably wont do a stall but ill be getting it all upgraded.

Do you guys think 1300 is a good price?

Sean at TGMS is the man when it comes to doing up 4L60E and other tranny's.

He did up the A4 in my 02 (I had more done to it than you are and I had him install a 3400 stall TC). It knocked 1/2 second off of my 1/4 mile times. Thing works great and I beat on it like it was a redheaded stepchild.

FWIW, he didn't need to do a full on rebuild as the tranny had only 40,xxx miles on it at the time but it was internally "fortified" for drag racing...

He drag races also so he knows what's up...

Well, if you're taking out a loan anyway, I'd get the stall if you're cracking the engine and 'tranny apart while you're in there-better to do it all in one shot...

well ive only been at my job for a couple yrs and i havent had much put into my 401k. I think i have around 1600-1800 available for me to take out so i dunno if i can afford a stall. ALso the cars gonna be a daily driver and sean told me id probably not want to do the stall cause it gonna affect my mpg.

I guess ill be talking to my 401k people this week cause i miss my camaro and driving my accord is just not cutting it. Thanks for all the info guys and im glad i found a good guy to build up my trans.
