After the cost of r&d and production plus realizing that most enthusiasts won't but an intake from a no name company on top of the lack of demand I think you'll find that the intakes you make will need to sell for WAY more than a FAST. LOL. There's a reason big companies that have been around for a while still go under.

I believe he said that's just the mold. Especially if its a multi piece setup. It's not cheap at all. That why only a few companies even make intakes for LS motors. I say money is in making an affordable individual throttle body intake. Those are bad *** and make (support) a ton of power not to mention awesome throttle response. They cost $3000-6000 and are mostly In Australia or Europe. Those would be easier to reproduce out of sheetmetal. $1000-1500 they'll sell like pancakes.

Well someone's trying at least someone's trying....a year ago. Lol, he probably gave up. Those Harrop and Kinsler units are like $6k. Trust me I looked for something affordable before getting my 102.

If I understood correctly, the one mold could be used to press both pieces. I know nothing about the process, I only brought it up to a customer, who is a car guy, and coincidentally had the tooling.

Making the math simple, selling at $700, at 50% margin, you'd need to sell 100 to break even. If that math were correct, someone would be doing it.

Best bet would be to contact a Chinese company that would produce exact replicas down to the FAST name for $200 and sell them as "real". Then chance you won't get caught.
