Default First start up on the MS3 cam.

I've been doing this build since march, the only reason that I've left it alone and haven't finished is because funds. Finally got this bad boy started up. Ms3 cam and ported 243's.

That is the build I was looking to do. It is the most efficient power to make on a stock cubed LS1. Sounds good man.

Thanks Adam. I was actually going to go with the torquerv2 cam but heard good things about the ms cams and said what the hell, it's not going to be my DD anyway.

Well compared to an ms4 which is over canning the ls1. Lol, besides bmep and mps are still in a good range with this setup.

Why is the ms4 over camming? With a correctly modded car they run amazing.

Efficient and donkey dick cams can't really go hand In hand.

Well on stock cubes you can only flow so much, the cam would require more than what is available. Yes you can say that it will only allow as much as the engine will allow but hey. I just say efficient because it is in a sense an efficient way to make power, you are using what you have to its potential and not pushing it. On stock cubes, like stock bottom end MS4 is a bit much.

The heads intake and exhaust will determine it.

Small cams are effecient. I am going to assume this setup is not being used to Its potential. Ms4 is well as ms3 are both max effort cams. Not sure what makes the ms4 too much but the ms3 efficient.

All I'm missing is the 4.10 gears. I think I'm going with 390's

personally i like the valve events better with the ms4 cam... the ms3 cam is lazy IMO... it never make decent mid range..great peak number but thats it, i have tuned at least 20+ ms3 cars so i know what i am talking about... the ms4 isnt much better, but its better.... with compression sub 11.1:1 these cams murder the dynamic compression.... throw some decent static compression at these cams then they wake up....but what do i know.....

Right on. Ms4 with some heads to help compression Is winning.

well dont forget to flycutt the pistons... the PTV is already tight with the ms4 cam so the minute you sneeze on those heads you are way to close on ptv

Absolutely nothing.... hahaha

Well I dunno just seems some MS4 cars make less power than they should, plus you have more ptv issues with the MS4 than an MS3. I know you have done a lot of these cars just saying it is a better cam when using the stock bottom end, no accounting for dished pistons or flycutting valve reliefs, just tossing a cam in and going (yes there is more to it than that you should know what i mean lol).

Quick Reply: First start up on the MS3 cam.
