Wish something like this would have happened when I was stationed at China Lake. For anybody headed up that way that isn't familiar with the area, try to find a room in Ridgecrest. As of last time I was there a year or so ago, there are no hotels/motels in Inyokern. There is a Best Western, Comfort Inn, and an Econo Lodge. Skip the Motel 6 unless you want some shifty meth addicts to knock on your door at 2am looking for "Jose". My girl at the time was not amused.

There are more upscale accommodations at the SpringHillSuites and Hampton Inn in Ridgecrest.

Military and local company discounts reduce the rates substantially.

Are those near the new Taco Bell? Those didn't exist while I lived there, but I did notice the new construction. I always stayed at the Best Western when I was there for orders and it wasnt bad.

When I did some work for Ridgecrest Hospital, I would always eat at the Pizza Hut, but then the new Taco Bell opened and I ate there once. Man I don't miss going there.

If you don't like Ridgecrest, you'll hate Trona!

Just like the ad says, come with a full tank of gas. The only gas station in Trona at the T-Stop has been intermittent at times when it comes to having gas.

I do not know how it is during the weekend, but weekdays cops hide out good on that road, so be careful.

Plan on a 30 minute drive if you obey the speed limit if coming from Ridgecrest.

We have arranged a group rate with the Hampton Inn in Ridgecrest.

http://hamptoninn.hilton.com/en/hp/h...tyhocn=RCTCAHX
The rate is only $79.20 for Friday night, please book on their website and use code "CHXASA ". We have confirmed with them that they have plenty of parking for trailers, and have security on site all night. They will also block off a section for parking in the front of the hotel. Please book your room early as these will sell out quickly

Dang! Yeah unfortunately I'm stuck in San Francisco right now working. Are they going to do another event? If so, I can schedule around work to be there next time!

I was there. Very fun event. Big thank you to CMS, Mike and Ryne both put some wrench time in for me this past week to get my car out to the event. My car kept having unforeseen issues, but with CMS's help the car got out to the event.

Also after going to the event I spent the entire drive home searching for parts to forge and build my engine. Damn my car is slow!

BTW I ran my Z06, and new dyno #'s are 577RWHP @ 10 lbs of boost
