Ripped off by Andy Mitchell, Hardcore Racing Parts in Montclair, CA
I bought a set of AFR 1094's from Andy Mitchell of Hardcore Racing Parts on RacingJunk. Sent $950 almost 3 months ago and have yet to receive them and he hasn't returned my calls or emails since 7/4. I didn't take too much caution sending him $ b/c he's been featured in tons of mags but since this went down, further research shows he's a major shyster notorious for this kind of crap and his prior business Outlaw Racing Engines is no longer. Wondering if anyone knows him or can verify if his shop is where he claims it to be. I have other irons in the fire as well trying to track him down but trying to work all angles. Guess I need to remove the AFR's from my sig...

I appreciate the PM's I've received, looks like he's still burning bridges. My attorney is now involved as well as my buddy who is an agent for a high profile Gov't agency and works out of the SoCal office (although they'd normally never entertain something this small, it pays to know the right people in the right place!).

I was actually fortunate enough to have a member from here contact me and then make a visit to Andy. Nothing bad went down, however, between receiving a letter from my attorney and then having someone walk through his door to pick up the heads in person, Andy produced a set of heads. They weren't the AFR's I originally paid for but a decent set of Trick Flows...I would've been happier with the AFR's but still happy to finally receive at least something b/c it was apparent he didn't have my money to give back to me...

Yeah, that thought went through my mind as well. When our ls1tech member visited Andy, Andy did show him a bunch of text messages to the guy supposedly at this tech school hounding the guy for the AFR's. Even had a text saying he was about to be sued if he didn't deliver so I think there was some truth to how he was getting the heads. I think what happened was he had another said of AFR's lined up so told me he had them and then spent my money before getting them which then became unavailable. Instead of trying to work with me and giving me a heads up, he just started avoiding the situation which is a shitty way of doing business. I've been watching his postings throughout though on Craigslist & Racing Junk and he hasn't posted any heads in a long while so hoping someone isn't waiting for these!
Lesson learned though. I never send cash/money order, etc but his references checked out and a guy from CA had just sent me a check for $1000 for a set of rims so I guess it diluted my senses...never again.
Again, much appreciation to all those who contacted me, I received PM's from at least 3 or 4 people offering to help or providing some insight to Andy's operation. This site has proven once again to be a priceless resource for info!

Andy Mitchell is completely bad news. I almost got ripped off by him myself, but my credit card company came through and got the transaction reversed.
Good job twisting his arm and getting something from this turd.
