Default 04 gto or 05 gto, can't decide

There's 2 gtos I've been looking at and I just can't decide. they will be daily driven.

04 gto- http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=450554

05 gto- http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/3353887425.html

I know the difference is the ls1 and ls2, the only thing I could see a problem is how abused the 04 is.

Which one do y'all think would be a smarter buy?

I think I'd be wary on the 05. Why would you change the diff and tranny fluid religiously as stated in the ad. Also why does it have different injectors if he only has exhaust. The only need to upgrade injectors if he was running boost or nitrous. The 04 owner seems a little more knowledgable about the car. In addition, not a fan of the chrome plated stock rims on the 05.

^^ slogoat brings up a good point about the injectors on the '05. Why would you change them when you have a car that has basically zero mods that would call for it? Car may have been modded out and raced out at some point, and now he's switched it back to mostly stock and "changed the fluids religiously" so he can sell it.

Or I guess he could just have no idea what he's talking about and the injectors may be stock, and he just changes the fluids a lot to take care of it. Lol

Overall I'd just take a knowledgable car person and investigate both, buy whichever one tickles your pickle.

I'm glad I have this forum for advice, I spoke to the owner of the 04 for a while and he's extremely knowledgeable about the car and took care of the car meticulously. Y'all are right about the 05 things do seem a little off, my bank has already approved me for 14k so ill have the 04 out the door for 14 I'm sure. Wish I could get the guy down to 12.5 haha hoping to put the car in the mid 450s someday, see what advice y'all give me for that later

Just cause he has all that done does not mean the car has been beat, just look at any high school boys first car. Everyone thought their first car was fast and drove the hell out of it. I had a cammed WS6 that i drove like a puss but would stand on it every once in a while (the car was built to take it though).
