Default "smogging"
havent been on here in years, cars been sitting in the garage since reg ran out in 2011 and i want to use it/ sell it possibly, how is everyone getting their "smogs" now? my reg paper says test only gold shield so nothing about the star program.

Star program replaced all gold shield stations this year I believe. It's been harder and harder to get "smogs" done. Since your a 01 it should be easier. I've seen videos of people that pass with lts and no cats out here since they changed the test for newer cars.

I read about that they only check readyness codes for 00 and newer. I still need to get my cel codes deleted from the PCM since I removed the AIR and rear o2 sensors then.

Do a search on this forum under "Star Stations" or "Star programs". The "Star Program", even though effective by law 01-01-2013 has been tentatively delayed.

thats what i saw, now the problem is trying to find a test only/gold shield guy before the star kicks in or should i wait for star?

I believe that "Heavymetals" knows the most about this.
I personally would look for a "Star rated Station".
Or a gold seal station if your car is listed as that being acceptable.

my two local star smog stations confirmed they are still reading the tailpipe on 00 and newer vehicles
