Summit Racing CARB notice
Any of you guys from California ordering parts through Summit seen this BS notice? I've never seen it before, it's definitely recent. I live in Texas so I never see it for me, but today I was ordering some stuff for my Dad who lives in Cali and this **** popped up.
It will not let me order it without agreeing that it's going on a vehicle older than '65 or an offroad vehicle. If you pick the third option, it makes you delete it from your cart. This isn't even exhaust or emissions related, it's a freaking ignition module for his 95 Suburban that is bone stock.
I said nuts to that and took it off, ordered everything else from Summit, and got the module from Amazon. But what the hell gives?

It is CA/CARB rules, but you can buy it under your name and address, receive it then ship it to your dad, just can't order it from CA or have it delivered to a CA address from a retailer.

That message is nothing new. Honestly it's not a big deal, the one that pisses me off is you cant even have a legit high flow cat shipped here anymore... Even tho some race classes (like rally-cross) require cats but will allow high flow cats...

I don't think that is a CARB or EPA requirement but is used by a manufacturer, distributor, or retail business to allow a them to ship to the PRK.
That relieves the business of any wrongdoing & passes it on to the buyer- recipient.
If that is a EPA, CARB, or BAR requirement I would like to see it in print.
