Got a family member moving to Arizona soon and I’m thinking of telling him to register my ls swap truck over there. He’s moving to buckeye. Do buckeye ask for smog or only Phoenix and Tucson

Emissions Control Areas[/h5]If your registration renewal notice reads "No Emissions Test Required," it is based on your address on file and your vehicle year. However, an emissions test may still be required if your vehicle is used to commute into an Air Quality Control area (including greater metro Phoenix and Tucson).
If you have questions, contact the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality at 602.771.3950 or visit myazcar.com for general information and maps.

Yes, Buckeye gets tested. Its basically if you live within about 30 minutes of Phoenix, and don't live on a reservation, you need to get tested. Even if you live outside of the area "you need to get tested if you (are stupid enough to say that you) commute to the Phoenix area regularly.
The test checks your gas cap seal, a sniffer test, and must maintain your factory smog equipment.
