My old tuner left Cali. Anyone have any good recs for an engine tuner with a dyno and mechanic skills around LA?

I only have the base break-in tune on my car, and I need to get the thing running solid with a good permanent tune. There are also some issues, like ABS/Trac inop lights that need diagnosing to get cruise control to work again. And a mysterious oil leak that vanishes when parked for a while. I need to find someone good to help me get the car the rest of the way there to be a daily again.

 

Would like to know as well. Seems like all the good tuners from back in the day are gone lol.

After reading reviews online, I plan to take the car to Church Automotive Testing, which is down near Long Beach (Wilmington). I think this is my best bet, but I have not contacted them yet.

 

There was a cool dude in Reseda who did street tunes, haven't talked to him in 2 years though. Might still have his number if your interested/if the number still works.

 

Be carful on what is changed in the tune, starting in 2021 the new California state smog regulations have changed, the state mandated smog check now includes a 21 pid file check for modified ecu.

 

Freddytuned in Lancaster does solid work on the dyno if ur willing to make the drive. I was having issues on the dyno & he really went out of his way to get my car right and running good. I was having oil leaks, Fuel issues and misfires from the plugs i was using. He ordered up plugs & parts for me and had me putting down some solid numbers an hour later. I got a LS2 gto with prc 220 heads, btr stage 3 and fast102 came in making 379whp baseline and left with 460whp 421 wtq on 91 he left running rich because i was having fuel issues with my injectors. Was told still had about another 15-20hp in her with better injectors & probably even more with e85.
