I am sure it's a decent deal Terry.....I just don't think it's the greatest deal in the world that you think it is....

And actually I just missed out on a '99 6 speed SS with similar miles and $3k worth of stereo equipment, plus an extra set of SS wheels and some mods for $10k a few weeks ago
That SS was owned by an old friend of mine, he failed to mention a few things about the car in the ad. Regardless when you're ready for a clean fast car let me know!

I knew about that blower stuff, etc. Terry...and his isn't the only one...I had a buddy struggle to sell a low mileage '98 SS for $10.8k....there is also a $10k 60k miles SS in the Vehicle Classifieds in here right now....f-bods are pretty soft right now....like I said...if you're ever down this direction, let me know and we can meet up so I can look at the car...

Yeah no problem! I never said it was the greatest deal in the world, but a good price when considering the low mileage and $6k+ in performance parts. I'd like to get an 11 second ET out of the car before I sell it. How often is California speedway open??

It's funny, I have 3 LS1's right now. Know anyone looking for a very fast supercharged hardtop C5? How about an agressive street/strip 2001 Z28?

Actually I just want to buy a stock car (mods aren't worth anything to me and typically not much to others as well) for between low book (trade-in) and high book (Private party retail)...I don't mind paying close to high book for a clean lower mileage car...but I definitely will not pay over book for almost anything (mods or no mods)....

I understand everyone values their car differently, but when it's obvious that the market is very soft and people are asking way over book for a car that's not not even worth mid book, it's a little amusing (that is not implied towards anyone here)....and of course those cars sit and sit for months and months until either the right buyer comes along or the price gets dropped....

Terry I think your car is a good deal..it's just not a 6 speed....if it were I probably would have already bought it from you...it's just hard when you have one thing in your mind that you want (clean, lower mileage 6 speed f-body) to convince yourself to deviate (an auto)....

Have you thought of an LT1? I bet a clean 94/95 6spd car could be had for around $3,800 now. Drop a comp 305 cam, rockers, headers on and you'll be in the high 12/low 13 range.

I have thought about that and I'd rather not go the LT1 route...only way I would is if I could find a real clean, 6 speed, lower mileage ws6 or firehawk formula for a good price, but what's funny is that all the LT1 SS's I see are priced way high...they all think becasue there were so many fewer made than the LS1 SS's that they're worth more...how funny is that......

Ok Joe, I'll sell you my silver beast for 10K......you know you want it! It's a six speed and will have a low mileage stock engine and some suspension mods and the widened rims. You'll be pimping in it, not to mention everyone will fear you since they all will think it still has a 388 in it
