Default Paying someone to...

Come to my house and use my air compressor+fitting and my spring tool, to change my springs!!!! Please!?!?! >_< I'm in Orange County, CA =p.

if i wasnt so tired i'd come up and let you use my spring tool. which one are you using? and TDC method is easier then compressed air.

Hell you dont have to use the TDC method, you can change all the springs without rotating the motor at all.There is not enough room for the valves to drop down to far to cause a problem on any cylinder(before the negative bandwagoning starts I have done over 30 cam swaps) at WORST you might have to spin the motor to UP one valve if any. Just take your time and stick with it.

eh, i wouldnt trust that. doing a cam swap on a buddies car he dropped a valve into the cyl and the only way we were able to get it out was with a pen magnet to line it back up with the valve guide and then turn the motor over.

Jrp I respect your opinion but like I said with over 30 cam installs I have NEVER personally had a problem, I guess a person that might do 1 or 2 cam swaps would sweat this aspect of their install but I guess I will continue to knock out 10 -12 a year and do what is neccasary to fix it when the time arrises.

There's also the "rope trick", where you feed a bunch of
rope into the spark plug hole until the cylinder gets fairly
full, then turn the crank until bind. Better for the case
where you have a high dome and the valve can drop too
much to get the keeper on.
