dropped the block off at the shop today, getting somewhere.
To use ARP bolts or not, that is the question.
I dont know if they are needed or not for my little N/A build. What you all think?

DO NOT SKIMP ON HEAD GASKETS OR ARP STUDS on a ls based motor.
buy the 5 layer gm head gasket and the arp suds, period.DOnt skimp on this part of the build as you will be sorry if you do.

No but now that your going to that thing Spend the little extra on the head studs IF you can afford it, as it may not be a bad idea if not the bolts will keep the heads down fine for your type of deal. The Cometics will work fine, but the 5 layer GM gasket is very good cheaper I believe though I'm not exactly sure of the pricing.....

My bastard child ported 853s arrived today. Look good to me, but the what do I know. Need to get them milled down and some springs. Should have my block back in a week and a half or so then decice to stroke or not to stroke.

Not gonna stroke it, too dam much bullshit. Clearancing everything and would cost about a grand more. I'll just go stock cube and a good cam, this way I should be on the road in January.
