Got the block out of my truck and on the stand. Will do a little cleany cleany and then check my clearances. Then the real fun begins. Dam I have a bit of work ahead of me.
Anyone care to tell me where the #1 main goes? Front of the block or the rear?

Disaster!!!
minor problem any ways. Checking my clearances using the old main bolts when the last bolt on the number five main lets go half way through the last pass. About an inch or more of bolt in the block. So what does one do in this situation? first dig out a pick and try to back the bolt out and a few other failed attempts, almost came to drilling and using a left handed bit for extraction when I decide to try just putting the broken bolt in to back out the threads. Well that was quite easy. Not sure of the exact clearance on #5 main but all others were ~.0015. Once I get me some new bolts the crank is goin in.

That seems a just little bit tight Robert, I like to see them in the .0023"-.0025" range on most of my builds. They call for between 0.0008"-0.0025" so you should be ok, why didnt you get the ARP bolts for the mains I thought you had said you ordered some?

that is to tight.I like to see 20 on the mains and 25 on the rods..
Also why didnt you use arp bolts?Did you aline hone it?if so you might need to have that checked if you change bolts to studs or just by going to a different (better arp bolt might pull the cap alittle different and change the main.
