they dont make one,but as a rule of thumb if you change bolts it can affect the line hone.Much more so with studs.

I'm from Visalia and am just waiting on a tune before I do much more driving. I went for a cruise last night and covered half of Visalia in super rich exhaust fumes lol. If anyone wants to go cruise on/offroad i'm down .

Where the hell can a person buy some ******* stock main bolts for an LS1 in Fresno?

I am not liking Fresno much at all right now.

on the plus side I have some racetronix goodness to put on my car that has no engine in it.

I'll be starting the new year by replacing my fuel pump and assembling my heads, not a bad start.

Got the heads assembled today. Went smooth enough. Will run the racetronix harness this weekend and put the pump in after the engine is back in the car. and thats all I have to say about that

Since that seems to be the topic:

My trans is done and rebuilt waiting for me at Mikes Transmission. Just need to have it shipped back to me this coming week. New Art Carr converter has been waiting patiently in my closet. Gonna finish pulling the motor with Elky on Wednesday so we can roll a new 6.0 crank into it. Also gonna swap out the 3.25 gears for some 3.50s. Hoping to have it all back together and cracking people off by Feburary 1st. <--- do-able Nate?????

Looks like the engine is going to be on the tight side. Mains @ .002 across the board and rods bearings (4 in right now) are @ .0019 Kinda strange, I was expecting more clearance considering 135k+ on the motor when pulled.
Trying to figure this whole quench/head gasket thing out. Pistons are about .017 out of the hole when flat, .033 when rocked. Dunno what all that means, so if you do know please advise and maybe even throw a ead gasket thickness recomendation out there.

Instead of owning a bunch of parts I now own a fully assembled LS1 short block! and a bunch of parts. Now I have to decide if I want a .033 quench area. Motor is tight and I have forged parts so I'm probably gonna go for it. Next weekend I should be putting the top end together. I have started the soaking of the lifters in oil ritual for whatever reason a person does that kinda thing.

Got lifter trays?

"Bring forth the lifters and the sacramental oil" (low Gregorian chanting in the background, incense being burned as Robert drops each lifter into the holy Tupperware container)

as the soaking of the lifters in Holy Anointing Oil continues the cam is being prepared for ritual blessing and sacraments. For truely the LS1 engine is touched by the hand of God. Public viewing of "The Cam" will be from 1PM to 4PM at St Anthonys.
