There is a "Casino" but not a gambling casino..

Lots of hotels in Avalon.. 1 in Two harbors..

There is no gambling at this casino. The name comes from the Italian definition, meaning a place of entertainment. Built in 1929 by Catalina's chief financier William Wrigley Jr., the mammoth structure was intended to attract mainlanders to the island. Hosting dozens of big bands in the 1930s and '40s, it was the premier dance hall in Southern California.

The Experience
Surrounded by sea on three sides, the round Art Deco structure stands the equivalent of 12 stories tall. Avalon Theater, on the first level, shows first-run movies nightly, and the theater's original Page Organ still plays before the show. The circular dome ceiling creates remarkable acoustics that global experts have traveled to Avalon to study. The upper level houses the world's largest circular ballroom. French doors encircle the room, and balcony views are spectacular. For the full experience, take one of the guided tours offered daily.

That's one hell of an answer!

I've only been on a ship or "fairy" on business that just circled Catalina, but that's it. I thought it would be a good place to take a lady or the like. I might be in Yuma Arizona on the 4th but it sounds fun! But I'd rather be in the parking lot staring at all the beasts chillin'.

Thanks!

Best time to go is for "Bucaneer Days" most dress up in pirate garb, but its also a "mardi gras" atmosphere... Half naked women that dont mind showing their jewels for a $.50 necklace, drinking dancing etc... A definate good time!
