Default Attention: Everyone that had Don Lee's install there H/C package need advise please..

Hey all:

I had Don Lee's install there 224/224 cam. I also have all the bolt on's along with LT headers, y-pipe with hi-flowcats.

I am now looking into doing heads.

I am having Don Lee's install teh heads but have a very inportant question.

Should I purchase Don Lee's ported and polished heads or get some after market ones? Don Lee's cost $1,700 for these own type heads.

I really need some good input here and wanted some advise. Please chime in and let me know if you got his head and cam package and what you thought and what kind of power you got.

Thanks

I have ran their heads and cam and I made very good power.Enough to run 10.04@134 MPH with a stock short block. And only a 229 cam.Ran 7.0's in the 1/8 @ 98 MPH and 11.30's on the motor @ 122 mph.Zero drivability issues.

As for the AFR 205's out of the box they are not very good out of the box. They really require Porting to really get anything out of them.

So to awnser your ? yes I think that Don Lee's heads are a good set of heads.

the afr are well known Iam not trying to say that the other guys arent good, and besides if you were to go with either heads the afr's would be easier to sell because of the name, not a lot of people know the other guys heads.. I would spend the money and go with afr's

Which heads are they using? 5.3, 5.7, etc. Or is it your choice?

I had DL install my h/c but my heads are APE and they suck!!!!

I am interested also in what you find out, I may have to have DL do up a set of heads for me as well. I like the way DL works. Tim actually saved me a ton of money when doing my h/c because I had parts listed that he said were too expensive for no/little gain and recommended I not buy them
