I should probably start a new thread but...............
While at the street legal race last night I was told that a new memorabilia store is going in right where the current drag strip sits. There have been talks of moving the strip to north side of the speedway but at this point sponsorship problems are holding it back.
They will run the rest of this years schedule out but there may be no 2006 drag racing from Fontana. I will work with the individual I got this information from and do everything I can to keep this track alive.
*EDIT*
I got a response from Honda-Tech.
"Speed Scene Live has received this reply from the president of California Speedway regarding the dragstrip. Aparently, racers have been sending letters of support.
>Thank you for writing. Is someone asking people to write us? This is the
>third similar note we've recieved in a very short period of time. If so
>would you please ask them to help us stop these rumors and discontinue the
>"campaign"? We're NOT considering closing down the Dragway. The truth is
>that we have a request before our Board of Director's for an enhancement
>project to the facility that would interfere with the current location of
>the Dragway. For that reason only, we have not yet begun to book our 2006
>schedule.

>Please help us spread the word, no one at the California Speedway is

>Thank you for your continued support.
This is great news from the president of the track. For continued updates, tune in to http://www.speedsceneracing.com anytime."

Yeah, there were some really impressive cars. 2 Evo's bit the dust, insane amount of STis and SRT-4s and Evos. I was suprised by how many SRT-4's were in the low 13 to high 12 range.

I let one of the other SRT guys use them and he went 13.2 @ 105. I ended up going 13.5 @ 108 on the street tires. Ah well it's still a new personal best on street tires. Two other SRT's in our group went high 12's.

You forgot the Race-Prep tune and install of the spray system, cat deletes and fuel pumps, that actually got the car working after it was a little botched up by the last place, it has hardly been driven for like the last year before we fixed it up! And yes, if he can hook it up, it WILL be fast!

He actually called me this morning, his trans has been giving him some trouble...funny you would never expect 540WHP to hurt a stock 5spd! But the fact is he was having to shift it with 2 hands and still ran 119MPH!!! He told me it was like a almost a full second just to shift each gear!! So needless to say it has got some kick to it for a 4.6!!
