My brother, my cousin and my sister in law are all chp.
When they were young they were cool about their jobs.
Now they are all different my brother drives like a 90 year old
my sister in law won't let her kids ride with me because my
car is unsafe and my cousin who's my age (47) is still
totally cool. He just pulled me over to talk the other morning.
I swear my sister in law would give me a ticket.
It's been a great career choice for all of them, they make decent money and
as they get older they get better assignments.

All of them have been hit on the side of the road at one point or another (in their cars)

I have done a ton of reasearch but cant remember that much from what I read a while back...I have thought about becoming a CHP officer myself - who knows I may still do it.

But go to the CHP's main website...they have all the pay rates and bonus/benefits etc...on there.

LFNDust - I didnt know they could ticket you on your own property. Thats fucken lame.

As for CHP, I havnt had any trouble with them. Sometimes they're coo and since they love our cars =) they'll let us off with a warning. But yeah, I get more funk with local cops than CHP. I'd try out for CHP, haha remember that movie Super Troopers?

Corrections IMHO is the best to get into as far as retirement 3% @55 and benifits and you dont have to pay into social security and get to what you want with that money also if you get in the right spot they pay you retention pay to keep you there thats where in trying to do a lateral transfer
