I've smoked my buddies '04 WRX with Stage 2. Guarentee, he puts slicks on his car and his tranny will go ca-put because that's what happened to my boy. His car didn't even move two inches off the line just "CLANK". He immediately went and traded in for a '06 WRX and put Stage 2 on that and I still smoke em. Until a WRX replaces the turbo atleast there should be no worry and the trannies in them are very weak and expensive to replace or repair, so if this guy is your friend warn him unless he wants to spend alot of money just to keep his car on the road.

please explain what a "stage 2" is... to my knowledge.. and my best friend and next door neighbor who owns an 03 WRX (525hp) an 05 WRX STi (430hp), a new 06 WRX STi (stock) and a 06 Evolution IX MR (350hp), we have never heard of this "stage 2"

a regular WRX is weak compared to the STi. We have a DynaPack system and have dyno'd many many STi's, WRX's Evo 8,and 9's... its true the trans are a semi-weak link (syncro's go bad).. but not as bad as you would think.. the WRX's are "quick" but i would not call them fast unless they have been modified, (bigger intercooler, turbo, boost controller, down pipe, catless)

You will probably beat him if you put skinnies out in the rear of yours...

Stage 2 would probably be a few BPUs...Most likely CAI, TBE, Tune, and ICP...maybe more

Yup all around...4wd burnouts are cool.

I see no way in hell that Suby keeping up with you. Especially if you're on silicks I think you'll give it a good beating.

I agree, all WRX owners know that the tranny & transfer case is garbage stock so if he's going to run you on slick he's got more than he's telling you.

but you should be ok.

actually its not really a burnout! the main reason why big hp awd cars have such a problem hooking off the line is because they leave on cold tires! Ive seen R34 put in in rwd to heat up the tires then put in back to awd for the launch, pretty cool stuff!

Stage 2 is referred from Kobb's Stage 2 kit. Turbo back exhaust and a base tune for it.
