I'm tempted at this point to drive it... If it leaks oil and blows up Firestone will owe me a new one. They called this morning to say, "We ordered the wrong oil pan because we didn't have you VIN number, the oil pan is for a 1998 Z28 but it's not for your car. Come get it and we'll call you when the right pan comes in..."

This is a WEEK later now (they stripped the pan last Wednesday, told me I would have to pay for a new pan, one call to corporate fixed that) and this guys is still feeding me BS... THERE IS ONLY ONE OIL PAN LISTED FOR 1998-2002 Z28's... I called the dealer to check.

Anyways, he sent me home with the oversized drain plug and leaking pan so they can pay for a new motor if the **** seizes up...

Got my oil changed Wednesday night at Firestone (where I have gone since I bought the car) and when they were DONE the guy tells me, "Oh, your drain plug was stripped so we stuck an oversized one on there. It doesn't seem to be leaking now but next time you're going to have to put a new oil pan on there."

I was like, "WTF?!?!" I said, "So how did that happen, did your guy use an impact gun and strip it?" He said, "No, the last person could have." I said, "Well, it's been changed here for the last 20,000 miles..." and he's like, "Oh, well the car has 147,000 miles it just happens."

I called the Firestone corporate office on Thursday at 8:00am and within 30 minutes I had a call from this store's manager (same guy who told me it stripped due to the mileage) apologizing and saying they would completely replace the oil pan no charge to me.

Anyways, it was supposed to be in Thursday and it wasn't, got a call on Friday to bring it in on Monday... Then I got the call this morning that they had the wrong oil pan

Same guy (the service manager) that BS'd me before that it wasn't their fault is the guy who is trying to tell me they ordered the wrong pan because they didn't have the car's VIN number

Had the audacity to think I would believe there is more than one oil pan for a 1998 Z28

Damn! Im not sure I would trust those idiots to replace the pan. Personally, I'd send the car to the dealer and have it replaced, and make Firestone pay the bill! BTW, where is this dealer located? Keep other LS1 owners from doing business to these numbnutz and risk getting screwed! I might come, but it depends on if its raining or not.
