Actually I'm flying on Skybus and they cancelled all flights to SD, so now I'm flying into Burbank. Found round trip bus fare to SD for $4, so it's not all bad. From there we'll get to the border. Once we're over the border I'm thinking busses for the long trips, walking for < a few miles, and cabs at night.

I'm seeing stuff online about a tourist card, is there any way to get one before I go? Are they really necissary? I'll be there about 6 days, give or take, and won't go any further south than Ensenada.

Is the San Diego Zoo worth checking out? I'm guessing after a week of boozing in MX I could use something like that.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll be having a short stay at Festival Plaza hotel, so I'm betting I'll be at Rock Taco a fair bit.
