damn there was one 405 S. right after Euclid St couple weeks ago i thougth it was some kind of radar i dont get how it takes the readings for each car moving 55+ or are you supposed to slow down?

from what i read, theres a camera mounted so when you pass it itll snap your license plate if you fail its sniffer as you pass by. i doubt its effective if you are over on the other lane if its a 2 lane entrance.

Santa fe springs had a road side smog check between
Florence and Telegragh on SF Springs Rd a couple months a go. They had the white truck ,cones a sign the said something survey. There was CHP car parked too.I was driven by and I thought it was a checkpoint at first until I saw them packing up the equipment and then I saw the sniffer.
I just missed it. Had a ORY at the time so I was shitting bricks.

i would love to see what the machine spits out when i drive by on C16 at 32psi at 26* timing race tune.. wonder if they would charge me for breaking that shi*..

that pic is not a smog machine its just a radar, they are also testing ways by mounting liek cal trans cameras way up and they see emissions and the color determines the amount of hc's co's and nox, then they snap the pic, this is what i was told in class couple years ago,
as for the check in the mail for 500 or buy your car from you for a 1000, this only applies to low income households and or cars that cant pass smog for whatever reason,.

Well my buddy in Canada tells me they have just regular old beaters parked on the side of the road up there (looks like a broke down car) with speed sensors and photo radar equipment, speed and you get a ticket in the mail similar to our red light photo tickets.
Another buddy of mine was saying how sigalert.com shows the current local freeway speeds and even has cameras at various locations. Whats not to say big brother sends CHPs out to sections where the speeds are averaging 85+? or worse yet, see you speeding past a camera and dispatch a unit after your ***? I know, it sounds paranoid...but one day....I'm telling you.
