Well, I finally bought a 1998 SS, but got a few questions. Under hard acceleration and accelerating outta turns, there's clicking noises or knocking noises coming from the rear end. I was just told that the car has posi. The car dosen't have traction control. Is this true that the noise is normal because of the posi??
I'll send pics and info on the car later on. Thanks.

no, it should not make any of those noises, get your rear checked before it goes BOOM like derek's did
mine was whisper quiet when I first got it, then I put in 4.10 gears and it whistles lightly at freeway speeds and quiet at turns etc... need to get mine checked osmetime too...

Nope. No headers. The person that I bought it from did put 4.10 gears in it and replaced the cats with high flows with new piping all the way back with a flowmaster. I do plan on getting the rear end serviced around Christmas time. And with the wheel bearings and seals, how do I go about checking on that?

You can pull ther rear cover and check for any metal debris in the oil or on the magnet. That would be your first indicator of a problem. Let me know if you need any parts.
