i dont not think that will pass to be honest too much overlap. i have seen a old MMS 229 cam on a 114 pass, but he was probably just lucky to be honest. 224 cams seem to be the tried a true way to pass smog.

Yep. I have come across plenty of these posts and 224 is as big as you want to go and PASS. another thing to watch out for is the LSA. Anything below 114 LSA is questionable. I have come across 112 LSA passing, but having to tune it just to pass then re-tune to drive it. 114 LSA have been smogged and passed.

224/581/114 cams seem to do just fine. Anything bigger may be a problem.

Passing is for sissies. Man up, put in the beefcake, and take your beating like a man when CHP stops you and assaults you for driving a modified vehicle. Or, just tell him you smoke ricers. CHP loves hearing kill stories about imports getting waxed.

i have using 224-228 on 114+2 it really makes good power and still passes emissions ( i have a smog guy next door to me, he will throw it on the machine to see if it passes ) but that cam for your z06 would be perfect, really a great all around camshaft, plus i usually keep them in stock.

So with cam installation and tune I'm looking at $1200+ ? Right?

The biggest I see passing with a good tune is the 228R on a 114. I have heard 1 car passing a 230. .114, but he could be full of it. 224R 114 is a safe smogable cam in most cases.
